Hey guys! I wanted a special place on this website where I could tell you, “Thank You.” The fact that you are reading this tells me that not only are you striving to be an excellent, virtuous man, but you care about relationships and the people in your life, and you want more out of life than just the superficial.
I know that Emotional Virtue can seem feminine, but in reality, learning how emotions and passions play a role both in men’s and women’s lives, and especially in how men and women relate to one another in relationships, is something I have seen all men take interest in. In fact, many men have confided in me that their struggles can often be very similar to the women.
Life can be tough; I talk to many men who endure very difficult lives: intense pressure for success, loneliness, break-ups, games, temptations, expectations, and the list could go on and on. Most men think they have to take this on alone. Then you add in the pressure to find, date, and keep the “one,” and life can become very intimidating.
Relationships can be complicated these days; as one frustrated college guy put it: “Why isn’t there some kind of instruction manual for dating? A formula, blueprint, outline, finger-paint drawing—anything! How are we supposed to just know what to do?” Whether you are searching for answers to navigate relationships, how to grow in virtue as man, or how to heal and grow through a tough time in life, I want you to know that you are not in this alone. There are other men in this battle with you; and I want you to know that I am here for you as well. I wrote the book for both women and men—we are all in this together. Even on social media, I hope you find in me a friend who supports you; and you can be assured of my prayers.
Thank you, again, for striving… keep fighting the good fight—it’s worth it! – Sarah Swafford
