Hey! My name is Sarah, and I’m excited you’ve found this site!

I’m from Atchison, Kansas, home of the great Benedictine College, where I graduated in 2004 with degrees in Theology and Business. A few years after college, I was blessed to be a Residence Hall Director in a freshmen women’s dorm at Benedictine where I took care of 142 freshmen women. It was such an amazing experience! I received a front row seat of the hearts of men and women transitioning from high school to college. I learned so much and loved every minute of it!

I am married to the most wonderful man. Andy and I have been married for 12 years, and we have four amazing children- Thomas (11), Fulton (10), Cate (6), and baby Kolbe(2)! My husband is a professor in the Theology department at Benedictine College and we live right up the street from campus!

High school and college were both such formative times in our lives; our mentors really helped shape our futures individually, and as a married couple. For this reason, our hearts are forever close to those entering this awesome, but trying time in life. We only hope to give back in some small measure with the same generosity that was so graciously shown to us.

I just released my first book, Emotional Virtue: A Guide to Drama-Free Relationships. Relationships can be complicated and life can be dramatic and just plain hard sometimes. The book is the fruit of thousands of conversations with men and women from many different stages in life. I am not an expert, and it’s not meant to be an academic book or even a research article. It’s this simple: if I could grab lunch with you, have a cup of coffee with you, or write a letter to you, this book is what I would want you to know. And I wrote the book for both men and women, because we are all in this together. You can find the table of contents and introduction here and you can order the book here!

I look forward to connecting with you on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

I hope you enjoy this site! Think of it as hope and encouragement for this crazy thing we call life!

Know of my love and prayers,
Sarah Swafford
